The story behind Tacos Mi Rancho
From one griddle and a family recipe box to a truck parked on N Barton St — here’s how it started, and why it still runs the same way.
Founder & Operator
Meet Ismael Godoy
Ismael grew up around a family kitchen where meals were made from scratch and recipes were handed down, not written down. Tacos Mi Rancho is that same kitchen, moved onto a truck.
He’s on the truck most days himself — running the comal, calling out orders, and making sure every plate leaves the window the way it would at his own table.
The name says it plainly: mi rancho, my home ground. It’s a small operation on purpose, so the food stays personal.

Same recipes, same care, every plate
Three things haven’t changed since day one, and won’t.
Family recipes
The marinades, the salsas, the birria consommé — all recipes from Ismael’s own family, not a supplier’s.
Made to order
Nothing sits under a heat lamp. Meat hits the comal and tortillas warm up when your ticket comes in, not before.
Community first
Fair prices, the same corner every day, and a truck that shows up for Arlington’s own events, not just tourists’.
Come say hi at the truck
Corner of N Barton St, open every day. Or if you’re planning something bigger, we’ll bring the truck to you.
